Stussy in collaboration with Stones Throw Records put this documentary together chronicling Detroit legend, J Dilla's, growing popularity on the LA scene and his migration from Detroit to LA before his untimely passing in 2006.
For Detroit hip-hop artists and purists, this film doesn't teach you anything you don't know, but for those not as close to the scene, this will provide a crash course on one of the most influential hip-hop artists to originate from our proud city.
It was interesting to hear about the "railroad between Detroit & LA for artists" that has existed since Motown which is an analogy of how many of Detroit's best/most talented musicians have left the city to for LA to get their due.
Great film - suggest you take 20 minutes out of your day and watch.
Couldn't find part 3 to post - but I think you can find it here.
